I've been thinking about improving my day-to-day Chrome experience with extensions for a while.
Around two months ago I started playing with a few ideas and last week two extensions got approved on the Chrome Web Store:
The agent one came from me just wanting to make something remotely useful with OpenAI's API. I used it as my main idea on the Starter Story Academy I joined but the idea as it is now is not that useful. I'm thinking of building it in a different way (and platform) to make it more useful. I think it has the potential to become a VA AI solution (so you just talk to it about your schedule and emails without having to go and see them manually).
The Youtube one came from me being annoyed at how distracting and attention-grabbing Youtube Shorts are so my first feature was just hiding all Shorts UI (so it even feels like they don't exist). I've added more features and I'm thinking about adding a few more so I'm pumped about it.
It's awesome to see to extensions public and available to download having my name on them. Even if they're don't get used by a lot of people I'm happy I built them.
I'm a but frustrated with the calendar agent one because it will take a lot more work to make it useful but I feel that it has potential.
This past week was a bit slower than I expected in terms of how much time I was able to dedicate on my ideas but I'm excited and hopeful.
